Tadao "Tad" is a Japanese-American member of the communications center, or the "ComBom", in the Graveyard under Hayden Upchurch. He died of heat stroke during the stand-off in the raid.

- He was among the characters first revealed namelessly by Neal Shusterman on his Facebook page, where he posted about the character and asked the fans for a name to give him, but it seems that Neal eventually named the character himself.[1][2]
- Neal Shusterman meant for him to be Chinese-American, as he stated during the Facebook search for his name.
